It has been 6 months since our computer shop became operational. In the 6 months of running, I can say that we had profit. It just have been lessen since the start of classes because the place of our shop is residential. Unlike those who are near at school, their sales might have risen. What we had better in sales is printing.
Printing is optional when running a computer shop, but I would suggest to offer it. In printing, we are gaining extra 2000-3000 php in sales. It also drives more costumer to computer shop, since they’ll see the computer shop and may rent a computer before printing.
What Is A Good Printer For Computer Shop?
In order to have a good profit in printing, a good printer is needed, a thrifty one, one that is not very technical to use and one that have a good printing quality. Since there are printers that are converted into continuous ink, they can print more pages with cheaper inks.
What we have used is Epson l120 printer. It is priced at 4,995 php here at Philippines and price for ink refills is around 380 php. It has a tank system which can be refilled easily by purchasing an ink from a supplier.
Unlike our first printer which is an HP Deskjet f2410, I had many problems with the ink system. I have to change cartridge from time to time and I had problems printing. The only thing the HP printer is useful right now is for scanning.
I know that this printer does not produce the highest quality of prints, but for a small and low budget business, it is perfect. I have returned my investment on it after 2 months.
Refilling Ink On The Printer
It is really simple to refill the ink on the printer. The ink must be refilled when the ink goes into the bottom line. Don’t let it get drained and refill it when it prints abnormally on paper. I had experienced it and even I have the blank ink refilled, it still doesn’t print anything black.
The solution is to flush your ink. You can flush your ink by going to maintenance mode of your printer and click Power Ink Flushing. You can also see other maintenance methods you can use with your printer.
Another issue I have encountered is when printing graphics with too much detail. It can easily be solved by changing the quality settings into high.
To conclude, I’m satisfied with the printer I have bought for my computer shop business. Let me know your thoughts.
